Anyways Tuesday we gave the car to the Elwood Elders and we didn't have it for this week. So that means this week we would bike.. and bike.. and bike and so on. I had trouble for the first part of it because I haven't ridden a bike like that for 4 years if not ever. I can walk all day and driving is not a problem. But it's been getting easier. It definitely feels weird especially since I am using a women's bike. Awkward. And I know what your thinking. Why don't you just buy a new bike and scrap the old one. I don't really have much of a choice to use it because it's a mission owned bike and where my area is located they put down mission owned bikes for us to use and if you are in my area or surrounding areas and have your own personal bike, then you have to put it in the storage. But wo is me for this free bike that works. But otherwise every thing else is fine. Some things in the mission are confusing because of thing that are going on but I will spare you all the details as I haven't already been doing.
OK I am doing to try to get off the subject of bikes even though bikes are not meant for this area. So Wednesday was interesting I guess we helped someone move a bunch of stuff into a storage container. And then went on to try and contact people. I realize that I am doing this but that day I re-taught myself how to ride a bike with no hands again so thats fun.
Then Thursday we had weekly planning which took up most of the morning. Then we had a lesson with the investigator with a baptismal date. We shared the Word of Wisdom. It's interesting because he likes when we visit him for us to hang out in his barn while we teach and from that he jokingly has created what we now call the barn rules. It's basically a coin toss to see which missionary says the pray. It's nothing super special but he loves it. He is a funny guy.
Friday we started by doing service at a sort of food pantry cafeteria place where we serve food to a bunch of people for free. Then we had lunch with a person we call grandpa Tim who is a person from my companions first area who really likes the missionaries even though he is not a member or even interested in becoming one as far as right now. So we had lunch and caught up with him and stuff then we went to an investigators house who has been investigating for years and helped her with her garden, just tilling and planting.
Saturday we helped with another move. I am getting really good at moving people, not that I already wasn't good at it. But we helped a new family in the ward move for 2 hours then came home, and went to dinner with a member. Then last thing on Saturday we had sports night where the missionaries and whoever else wants to come and we hangout and play sports or do something recreational, my first week we where the only ones who came but this last Saturday we had a pretty good turn out. We play jail break where you have a volley ball net and a ball obviously and the objective is to get everyone on the other team out. To get them out you have to call there name and throw the ball over the net. If any one catches it then the person whose name is called is safe, but if nobody catches it then the person whose name is called is out. And when there is one person left on a team they can call jail break and if the ball is missed then everyone on the team comes back. The last few games me and my companion decided that it would be fun if it were the 2 Elders against everyone else. It was. We did win, once.
Last was Sunday. We had church of course but afterwards we had a linger longer, or a pot luck. That was a fun experience. It was funny because our investigator came up to me with a plate full of food and jokingly asked me if it was against the Word of Wisdom. Then after that was just a normal day of contacting people.
Hope you all have a good week, If there are any questions, I guess I would be completely willing to answer. But if not I hope you have a great day. Bye
