5/28/2018 Week 30: Big News!!!

Its not just big news. Its heuge news. No pictures. But that's not the big news

I am changing missions. Right shocking. The first thing I thought of was how my mission call is no longer accurate. But yes. As of July 1st I will be apart of the Indiana Indianapolis mission. I will be apart of 2 stakes leaving the mission. I will receive a new mission president. Kinda sad. I mean I like my mission. But this is the Lord's will. I am excited don't get me wrong but I was expecting 2 stakes to be joining us but now not only do we lose 2 but we are only receiving one stake. It sucks but it doesn't. I have an email to forward parents about this when I am done so email them for questions because I don't have a clue how this is going to work. All I know is I know about 5 missionaries who are going with me.

But I guess I will talk about my week. I met a 103 year old lady and she kept telling me, "You should go to the kingdom hall they needs some good young men". I mean I am flattered but no amount of flattery will make me apostatize much less join a cult. No offense to any J-dubs but I don't think you should shame a person for leaving your so called church. There is a reason the preachers house is bigger than the church building its self. But yeah, 103. Thats before WWII by like over 20 years. Then I am going to Tims family reunion today for some reason. I taught his Aunt and now I am family. Then I committed someone to be baptized July 15 (meant June 15) but at the rate he is going it will be July. He said yes though. If he starts progressing I give more information about him. He is just having a hard time with stuff. I taught about 7 people this week. Its over 90 degrees outside and we have to bike in white shirts and ties every day for a couple hours. I basically have a pet dog now. Tim's dog is now my dog. Also I started a garden this week because P-days start to get boring. I am probably work on that more today. I have 2 flowers planted and I have 3 full bushes to pull out. We also had our landlord come this morning and put in a new A/C which feels amazing. It dropped our house from 80 degrees (with humidity) to 60 degrees. So happy. And last but not least I sealed the hole that the chipmunk would use to get in the house with a rock. Don't worry it is not inside. I hope.

I just got off the phone with our mission president. Elder Moncrief and I are being transfered to New Castle, Indiana.

I guess that's all for this week. Talk to you all later. BYE.

5/21/2018 Week 29: Hoosier Town; population: too many

If they were to count how many Hoosiers are in Indiana they would never stop counting because they would talk you head off for a couple hours before you could count the second. But other than the obvious this week was great. The rain came down hard this week. I wouldnt have been surprised if there was a tornado. There hasn't been a tornado here for a while supposedly but that doesn't change if one does happen or not. We had to put our car in for a recall so that wasted some time and let the rain pass for the moment. After it rains it always gets super humid. And hot. That's a down side. But we had to do the recall because there is a piece of the Ford fusion that goes in the steering wheel that is loose or something and can stop the steering wheel from working. The main thing I thought when I ready that letter was, "that sounds like a waste of money and a scam". I am no mechanic, yet, but I know that if that was a problem now, then they most likely knew about it when the manufactured the car. I am willing to bet that there was a more effective way to build the steering wheel that would never cause problems like that. They just want money. I saw that some people who email me who are close to me (confidentiality) had just experienced car problems. Too bad there wasn't someone who wants to study how to fix cars but is currently on a mission wasn't there. 😂. Just kidding. I would rather be here, no offense. Also our car still has the dent in it so we had to get an estimated cost on that. No big deal. Thankfully we don't have to pay for any of this. This all would cost more money than I ever have had. Also my water proof speaker that I got for my birthday for my self, 👍, it broke. It got water in it I think. I know stupid. I will find a way to fix it because that's what I do. It just won't turn on. Now I have to stand in the shower, music less. Sad times. And I can't bring my phone in the bathroom because rules for missionaries restricts doing that. I mean people still do it but I am obedient so what can I say 😇. I need to start cleaning off my mega desk though because I am sloppy and that's not conducive to the spirit. We had stake conference yesterday. I enjoyed it. We sat with Tim and he kept telling us that in his 3 years of membership he has never sat on the cushion cars for a stake conference, only metal ones so we scored him a soft chair. We were all happy. (if you don't know who Tim is then read my previous emails). Thank you parents for sending my favorite cake recipe. I saw the cake at Tim's house yesterday and I had trouble not eating it. But that makes tomorrow even better because of the suspense. We have to get haircuts today because I have basically neglected it and now my hair goes to my eyebrows. Oops. Also while we were on our way to get haircuts a light came on in the car and I looked at the manual and it turns out they messed up the steering wheel so we are taking it in later. I told you. Nothing seemed wrong before going the first time. They just want our money. Scum of the Earth am I right. Also people are completely obsessed with the royal wedding and it's like I don't care about there wedding I care about you growing closer to God. We are not a monarchy so I don't care about that stuff. I am ranting. Sadly yesterday the only thing that I wish happened was I was at the Cincinnati stake conference because Elder Rasband was there. Our mission had 3 stake conferences yesterday. Our ward on the other hand I am afraid for will if they don't change will be abolished and separated into other wards. The people are all old and they grow comfortable and they don't progress or help because of what ever reason. Also I guess a little background on the pictures. The Garfield statue. So the creator of Garfield is actually from this part of Indiana apparently so the city wants to be a tourist trap because it's got nothing going for it except the college. So they put statues of Garfield in the cities all around here. I'm gonna try to get a picture next to as many of them as possible. Also tanks am I right? Also I have a flower named Peter. And last that mail box is a cow. Anyways that's really all that I can think of the email this week. So I will talk to yall next week. Bye.

5/14/2018 Week 28: There Is No Such Thing As Spring In Indiana

I don't understand the weather here. I never will probably. They say "if you don't like the weather just wait 10 minutes". I understand what they mean today was sunny then it started to rain, then it got heavier, then there were thunder storms and now about 30 minutes later it stopped. It's so bizarre. Happy mothers day yesterday. Happy that I got to FaceTime my family yesterday. It was good to see them. I am a little upset today though because after the call and everything we biked home and I get to the door and I realized I didn't have the keys, or my wallet. Thankfully we had a spare key here but it was kinda difficult to buy groceries this morning without my wallet. So what I did was I payed for my stuff with spare quarters that I had. $11 worth of quarters surprisingly got me a good amount of stuff. I'll probably go again later when I have my wallet. Another problem though is I don't have the keys to the Church on me so I have to figure stuff out with my email. Otherwise everything is great. Had a fun week. Nobody came to sports night on Saturday. Only one investigator came to church yesterday sadly. But its better than none. We are in tornado season so the weather here kind makes me nervous. But so be it. Thankfully we get the car tomorrow. I don't like biking in the rain. We have been doing a lot of service as of lately which is fun. It's mostly moving furniture and stuff so its easy. Okay now I am on the computer. Bishop let us in. We have been getting a lot of investigators recently and most of them seem pretty committed other than the fact that none of them came to church yesterday, but I forgive them because it was mothers day an they probably decided to spend time with there mothers. Next week though is when I will be slightly less forgiving. Not really. This week really has been pretty average except for the past 2 days really. There's not much else to write so I guess I just end off here. Talk to yall later. Bye

Elder Moore

Tim's dog does this when he sees you have food. He can sit like that for over an hour.

5/7/2018 Week 27: Bees Are Everywhere

Who ever said bees are going to be extinct has never been to Indiana. Every lesson I have had outside a bee has decided to join in. It's obnoxious. And I can't smack them because there are so many I am bound to be stung. But that is a sign that spring is finally here. All the trees are blooming and the allergies are kicking in, don't worry I have medication for that. Still dislike biking. We had exchanges this week and oh boy was that a story. So I go to Elwood which by the way has a little bit of history in a bad was but I had fun. So the morning I was there was a doozie for lack of better words. So we get back to the apartment and we get up the stairs with our bikes and the door is locked and we come to find out that the Elder I was with that day didn't have the keys on him and so he tries getting the spare key and he can get it so we are stuck outside and so I give the idea of the balcony door because who locks those. So I climb up the side of the building and get on the balcony and it was lock and I tell him and he forgot to mention that. So I come back down and we ask one of the neighbors to call the building manager to see if he had a master key thankfully he did. And he told us I was going to charge you guys $20 for this but since you work for the Lord I will do it for free. Tender mercies. Amazing thing happened the other day though, we got 5 new investigators. That was one of the most exciting/spiritually exhausting day I have every had so far on my mission. It went perfect. I have gone from typing on the computer to on my phone because we are going to Elwood to play basket ball today. I don't really want to play basketball so I was thinking of probably play the piano for a while. Sad things unfortunately happened this week though, so recently we got the announcement that Elder Rasband was coming to our mission to speak. But sadly it was canceled because he will be doing a devotional for the youth at the time. I understand I think the reason for the change because what seems more important, talking to faithful missionaries or youth who are struggling. So I am not super upset. Also on Saturday when we were at sports night we were playing jailbreak and someone broke there finger so we had to finish early. They are OK. There nuckle got chipped and is floating around in their tendon so that's interesting. I didn't cause it so that's good. Anyways that's about it for this week. Talk to some of you soon as in on mother's day I get to FaceTime my family. exciting.  But other than that talk to you all next week. Bye

Us hanging out with Tim for a little bit for his birthday.

Going to sports night

My new name tags in Swedish, and spanish. Don't worry I don't wear them in public.

No Hands! A little too fast for comfort.
